AI visibility in UAE fintech: who gets recommended

Audits of three UAE fintech brands show three very different positions: category dominance, a high-intent blind spot and visibility that changes sharply by engine.

The scorecard

Three brands, three visibility profiles

These scores come from each brand's published audit and its own buyer-intent query set. Read them as diagnostics of where each brand appears in its category, not as a single shared-category league table.

Tabby

96/ 100 overall

Tabby was cited in every sampled answer and recommended first on the flagship BNPL query by every engine. Tamara was the nearest rival across the audit.

Ziina

43/ 100 overall

Ziina was absent from the payment-link answer in ChatGPT and Perplexity. Gemini did list the brand, showing how much the result changed by engine.

Standout findings

Agreement at the top, blind spots underneath

Category control

The Tabby and Tamara duopoly

Every engine placed Tabby first on the flagship UAE BNPL query. Tamara was the top competitor by share of voice, while Postpay, Cashew and Spotii trailed.

Use-case gap

Sarwa vanished on the expat index-fund query

ChatGPT and Perplexity both answered without naming Sarwa. Gemini did name it, so the blind spot was large but not universal.

Engine split

Ziina missed its payment-link moment in two engines

ChatGPT listed competing providers without Ziina, and Perplexity named Mamo instead. Gemini included Ziina behind Stripe.

Cross-engine lesson

One overall score can hide different answer surfaces

Tabby had broad agreement across engines. Sarwa and Ziina each had a query where Gemini included the brand while ChatGPT and Perplexity did not.

Engine by engine

The same query can produce a different shortlist

The clearest comparison is not a generic engine ranking. It is how each engine handled the buyer question where the brand's visibility was most revealing.

Brand ChatGPT Gemini Perplexity
Tabby First pick on the flagship BNPL query First pick on the flagship BNPL query First pick on the flagship BNPL query
Sarwa Absent on the expat index-fund query Present on the expat index-fund query Absent on the expat index-fund query
Ziina Absent on the payment-link query Present behind Stripe on the payment-link query Absent on the payment-link query

The Tabby and Sarwa results come from mini-audits with repeated captures. The Ziina result comes from its full audit. Each statement above is limited to the named query and captured engine answers.

Category leadership can be unanimous

Tabby shows what broad agreement looks like: every engine selected the same flagship-query leader.

A useful query can expose the real gap

Sarwa had a solid overall score, yet two engines omitted it when an expat asked how to start with index funds.

Presence is not portable between engines

Ziina appeared in Gemini's payment-link answer but not in the equivalent ChatGPT or Perplexity captures.
